My Bio

thank you for visiting and for your interest in my art

art: my preferred medium is pencil, ink and acrylic, either individually or combined. my favorite brands are berol turquoise pencils, higgins or w&n inks and golden acrylics. the majority of my ink drawings are done with sakura pigma microns.

history: i used to manage a number of art stores in the boston area, so i am well-versed in a wide range of products and mediums, from drawing and painting supplies to large format printers. i consider myself a bit of a pen snob, so if you have a favorite that you'd like to share, leave a comment on my page!

biology: i suffer from a rare form of juvenile glaucoma that i've been battling since being diagnosed in 2006. to date i've had 6 surgeries and 2 implants; technically my left eye is bionic at this point (but i'm still waiting for the heat vision upgrade). unfortunately i have been left with a good portion of blindness in each eye, but i continue to draw and create when i can.

current: at the time of writing this, i am currently employed at a software company that builds, deploys and manages web-based systems for clinical trials by some of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies. this has been especially rewarding and challenging given the times we live in with the covid pandemic. i do still try to stay creative and sketch when i can.

thank you kindly for all your support and friendship

Inktober 2019

2 min read
Hi all, It's been a long time since I've posted on dA and I haven't been drawing as much due to some eye surgeries. However, I was inspired to make an attempt at #Inktober this year. "Inktober" if you haven't heard, is an artist's drawing challenge where you strive to make your inkwork better by practicing once every day in the month of October, potentially drawing in accordance to a list of "prompts" supplied by the artist Jake Parker, who is credited as starting the Inktober challenge. I have certainly learned a few things: - Dedicate time to draw every day and find a way to stick to it - Your best drawings are the ones you'll want to put the most time into - If following the "Inktober prompts", don't spend too long trying to come up with an idea - When you can't come up with a prompt idea, draw whatever the heck you want - Try not to fall asleep mid-drawing (there are inky consequences) - Don't beat yourself up if you can't complete Inktober! I really did intend to jump in on the

Greetings friends, followers, admirers and passers-by. Its been a long road for me over the past few years with my family involved in the United States Marine Corps. Military life is by no means easy, and despite enjoying so much time devoted to being a stay-at-home Mom while my daughter blossomed into a beautiful, intelligent and thoughtful young girl, I have a heavy heart. I regret my obvious lack of art while stationed at Camp Lejeune, but at the very least I'm glad to have made strides in other personal directions and creative endeavors during our time there. Just recently we moved back to our home state and are living nearby family and

Hi all, it's been a while since I updated here. Life and all. Lots of things. I'm folding One-Thousand origami cranes for my ailing grandmother. It's a deeply personal project that is taking much of my time. Are you interested? If so, please follow my blog on it here for photos, entries and probably some videos and instruction. Feel free to comment. I could use some moral support. I'll be posting all sorts of WIP goodies and close-ups o
